Rolex made the first rainproof watch of the world in 1926, after that, it spared no effort to set to develop a new product-Diving Timepieces. Once in 1960, Rolex made a diving watch just for experiment and hung it on the American navy submarine-TRIESTE which submerged into water with the watch in a 10,908 meters depth. Since then, Rolex had established itself as the leading role in the Diving Timepieces world.

1971, Rolex lauched the series of Sea-Dweller which had a helium vent valve and can dive into a 610 metres depth. Early in the next year, M. Patrice Chemin and M. Robert Gauret dive into the water which had 600 meters deep wearing this kind in a heliox environment in the Marseille territorial waters of France. They persisted on working for 18 days under that condition and set up a new world record for the time.

Ever since 1980, Sea-Dweller expanded the deepest waterproof point to 1220 meters, remaining until now. The above watch equips a sapphirine crystal lens and a self-winding cassette mechanism which comply with the ruquirements of the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute(COSC). Besides, it has a calendar display window and an exhaust valves which is placed in the left side. Let’s have an illustration about its’ operating principle. When the air pressure inside the watchcase is higher than the outside, the valve will open automatically and exhaust gas while can also keep the waterproofness. Due to this attribute, the divers will no longer use a toothpick to prick in order to open it. What’s more, they can feel more comfortable with the equipment which can exhaust helium automatically. All these advanced technologies result in a great boost of seafaring.

By any measure, the structure and function are perfect. You can’t ask for more
