Atmos Birthday Clock

Eveyday I always introduce the watch’s news for you, today I want to change my habbit. A new clock will be introduced for my friends, maybe it would make you exciting.

Celebrating their birthdays or anniversaries is in the best traditions of many horological companies. Such an event, however, is not always marked with the release of a product that bears an eloquent inscription birthday.

This is a spectacular element of the design work, performed at Jaeger-LeCoultre in the Atmos branch. Since 1920s, the Atmos creations have been regarded as the most appealing desk clocks in the world.

The complicated mechanism employs insignificant changes in the environmental temperatures for animating the clock. It is considered to be almost perpetual, since it requires neither winding, nor batteries.

The limited series Birthday Atmos clock from Jaeger-LeCoultre, reviewed by Watches.InfoNIAC.com, is powered by the entirely hand-made Caliber 564 movement. This clock has been manufactured from many different materials: a large amount of rhodium plated steel, mother of pearl, the dial is coated with, and diamonds, mounted on 8 out of 16 models.

The clock dial is marked with fancifully repeated inscription Atmos Birthday. Due to their unique nature, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clocks have become the most preferable presents, high society individuals choose to give to each other.

So complex: pocket-watch N°1160 reproduced

Nearly 200 years ago, Marie Antoinette, the queen of French, had a truly passionate desire for Breguet watches. In 1783, one of her admirers intended to designed a special watch as a gift to the queen. To be attractive for us now, the desingner wanted to use gold to replace metals as possible.

Though this special gift is so precious, even a rarity, the queen never had the opportunity to see the timepiece. It was fininshed at 1827 while the queen had been dead for 34 years. The whole time of the watch’s making is more than 44 years. This also made a legend for everyone to talk in the history of the watch. The same reason, this special watch became many watch’s collectors’ dream to be the owner for more than 200 years. But it was stolen from a Jerusalem museum and lost for several years.

In order to memorize the whole story and to show respect for the queen, the president and CEO of Montres Breguet, Nicolas G. Hayek decided to give himself a big chanllenge to reproduce the Marie Antoinette pocket watch identically in 2005. Reproducing and designing such a large number of complications on the sole basis of documents is against the odds and reveals the talent of the watchmakers at Montres Breguet.

For example, in the coachwork of the watch, the yellow gold of the 63mm-diameter case was cast in a special, more coppery alloy in order to match the period hue. The glasses for the dial and the case, made of rock crystal, allow the movement to display its finery and the marvels of its finish. After used nearly 823 outstandingly components, the reproduced pocke watch came to us, and its smallest detail demonstrate perfect execution and have been finished by hand. From the picture below, I’m sure most people will be amazed by its complexity. Even the box of the watch was made of more than 3,500 pieces sculpted from the wood of the royal oak tree from the Versailles Estate.

The most incredible coincidence I’ve ever heard of is the orginal pocket watch appeared recently with the reproduced watch announced.

As a famous watch maker, Cimier introduced the Petite Seconde Venom in September 2009. The new watch has 43mm stainless steel case with a black PVD finish. It has a polished finish on the bezel and case, a brushed finish on the top of the lugs. An ETA Unitas 6497 manual-wind mechanical movement inside improves the quality. Cimier blakened the movement of the watch and featured it with blued screws, all visible through a “Jorg Stiel” signed sapphire caseback. Jorg Stiel had been a football sporter in the Swiss national soccer team. Cimier may be want to show the respect for this great sporter with this action.

The hours, minutes and small seconds hands is black with yellow . A small seconds dial is placed at 10 o’clock, marked in 5 second increments. A polished PVD crown that is used to set the time and wind the movement is placed at 4 o’clock. Power-reserve is 56 hours. The strap is made of yellow python, which is in tune with the style of the watch. Water-resistance is 50 meters.

With regret to tell everyone, this pretty watch is limited only 200 pieces in the world. Maybe because of the same reason, the watch’s retail price is very high, $2,299. I think it should belong to the high-income class, or belong to the watch collectors. To be frankly, the Petite Seconde Venom is too beautiful and worth to be collect.
